Yay the funness of Senate is tonight – 6.45 in the council chambers, round the corner an up the stairs from where the entrance to main arts is, where MALT and PJ halls are. Yum.
Thing is though, we need a quorate meeting (makes it a valid meeting and not just an excuse to eat the gingerbread that Tigz – SWD Senator – is making tonight) which means 20 people need to show up. If that doesn’t happen there is no point in even being there. But i am hoping that i will be able to depart early after the voting has taken place, and run down to Fruit Salad and have a drink with everyone else…
Basically tonight I have to make a speech about why we should a) include training for LGBT in the peer guide training, and b) include Unity Guides as specialist peer guides. Well a) is simple. No training exists already and it’s important to make sure new students have access to the advice they need. B) is more tricky but tends to be along the lines of, “well they exist for international, mature an disabled, so why cant LGBT have them too?”
I’m more nervous about the whole speaking in front of Senate thing. Always tends to get to me that.
Oh well. Ill let everyone know what happens anyway.
